Vernal A. Ebeling, 80, of Owatonna, died Friday, May 30, 2008 at Cedarview Care Center. He was born February 3, 1928 in Meriden Township the son of Arthur and Regina (Enzenauer) Ebeling. Vernal attended District #43 School in Meriden Township, and graduated from Owatonna High School in 1946. He then started farming in Meriden Township. He married Josephine 'Jo' Svatos May 2, 1949. Vernal farmed, raised dairy cattle and drove truck for many different companies. Vernal enjoyed playing cards, dancing traveling, Sunday drives, fishing, and hunting. He especially enjoyed the company of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Vernal is survived by five daughters Carolyn (Dave) Bell of Albert Lea, Marilyn (Jerry) Meixner of Owatonna, Sharon (Ed) Skala of Blooming Prairie, Vickie (Dave) Skala of Owatonna, and Mary (Clyde) Thurnau of Grand Rapids, and one son Rick Ebeling of Owatonna. Seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren also survive Vernal. His wife preceded him in death. Funeral service will be held Tuesday June 3, 2008 at 11:00 AM at Michaelson Funeral Home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30 until the time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Cemetery Litomysl. Memorials are preferred to Cedarview Care Center.
