Vernon D. McGinley, 80, of Owatonna, died Thursday, June 28, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital. He was born November 30, 1931 in Dodge County, Minnesota the son of Martin and Gertrude (Wencell) McGinley. Vernon graduated from West Concord High School in 1950 and worked at different jobs in the West Concord area. Vern served in the United States Army from 1952 -1953. He then moved to Owatonna and worked for the Owatonna Bus Company, Summer Sanitation, and King Company. Vern married Judy Wilker May 6, 1978. After retiring Vern and Judy had a lawn care and snow removal business. Vern was a member of the Eagles and the American Legion of West Concord He is survived by his wife Judy McGinley and daughter, Angie McGinley both of Owatonna, brother Larry (and Lois) McGinley of Minneapolis, numerous nieces and nephews, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Ronald and an infant sister. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Tuesday July 3, 2012 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM. Funeral services will be held Tuesday July 3, 2012 at 1:00 PM at Michaelson Funeral Home with The Reverend Julie Malone officiating.
