Viola Emma Schuster, 88, of Owatonna, died Friday, February 12, 2010 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis. She was born February 24, 1921 in Steele County the daughter of William and Emma (Radel) Pitan. Viola married Alvin Schuster March 5, 1946 in Owatonna. The couple lived in Owatonna where she was a bookkeeper for Smith Electric and later Rietveld Kuhn Electric. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was active in circle and other activities. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and volunteered with Healthy Seniors and Senior Place. She loved to read, play cards and crochet. Viola is survived by sons, Dennis Schuster of Bloomington, Dewayne (and Kaye) Schuster of Owatonna; 5 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Maynard (and Ida) Pitan of Faribault; sister, Elaine Blazek of St Paul and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, 2 brothers, 3 sisters and 2 nephews. Visitation will be at St. John Lutheran Church on Wednesday from 9:30am to 10:30am. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at 10:30am at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the Ft.
