Violet Lenore Rowe, age 96, of Owatonna, died December 20, 2014, at Homestead Hospice House. Violet Lundene was born September 11, 1918 in Floyd County Iowa. She was the fourth of seven children born to Amos and Clara Lundene. She graduated from Otranto High School in 1936. On June 12, 1941 she married Carl Rowe. The couple farmed in Southern Minnesota until moving to Otranto, Iowa in 1951. Mrs. Rowe and her husband moved to Owatonna in 1967 and she went to work as a seamstress at Kummeth Manufacturing. Mrs. Rowe was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and was active with the senior activities as well as sewing circle and service committee. She was a passionate baker and cook, she enjoyed playing cards, sewing, fishing, working in her garden, and especially mowing the lawn. More than anything she loved the Lord, her family and her friends. Violet Rowe is survived by her son David Rowe of San Jose, CA; granddaughter Lisa Rowe of New York; grandson Peter Rowe and wife Karen and great grandchildren Madison and Michael of Georgia; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Rowe, her daughter in-law Carolyn, her five sisters and her brother. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, December 26, 2014, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM and one hour prior to the service in the church. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 27, 2014, at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Richard Steffen officiating. Interment will be in the Rose Creek Enterprise Cemetery, Austin, Minnesota. Memorials are preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church Senior programs or to the Homestead Hospice House.
