Obituary

Wanda Adeline Welsch, 92, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Clare Bridge Cottage in Owatonna, Minnesota. Wanda was born August 15, 1922 in Meriden Township, Minnesota the daughter of Gottlieb and Adeline (Enzenauer) Herget. She attended country school in Meriden Township and received her high school diploma from the American School of Education. Wanda worked at Josten's until 1946. She married Charles Welsch on June 21, 1946 at the St. John Lutheran Church Parsonage in Owatonna. Wanda stayed home to raise their three children. She later worked as a medical assistant to Dr. Stransky , Dr. Carver and Dr. Roetman. Wanda loved being a homemaker and spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling in the motor home with her husband and gardening. She was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was active in circle and past president of Ladies Aid and a member of Lady Elks. She was also active in the Jefferson School PTA and with the school program. She assisted in the Boy and Girl Scouts Program. Wanda enjoyed playing cards and was in card club for over 30 years. She is survived by her son, Dennis (Zenida) Welsch of Scottsdale, AZ; her daughters, Deberah (Donald) Tommet of Phelps, Wisconsin, and Wendy (Wayne) Bogatzki of Lakeville; eight grandchildren, Daphne, Sarah, and Kelly Welsch, Daniel and David Tommet, Douglas (Monica) Tommet, Jay (Kimberly) Sokolovsky, Jon (Stephanie) Bogatzki; seven great grandchildren, Charles, Avery, Benjamin, Tucker, and Elijah Sokolovsky, Aly and Ava Bogatzki; and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Charles (2005), sister, Frieda Dolgner, and brothers, Hermann and Gilbert Herget. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Sunday, March 8, 2015 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and at St. John Lutheran Church on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 9, 2015 at 10:00 AM at St. John Lutheran Church with Pastor Dave Klawiter officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna. Memorials are preferred to St. John Lutheran Church or donor's choice. Visitation: 03/08/2015 13:00 03/08/2015 15:00 Service: Owatonna and one hour prior to the service at the church 03/09/2015 10:00
