Obituary

Wayne Si Allen Yule, 81, of Owatonna, died Sunday, June 1, 2014 at Minneapolis VA Health Care System. He was born June 6, 1932 in Steele County, Minnesota the son of Alfred and Alice (Ballstadt) Yule. He graduated Owatonna High School in 1950. He served in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. He was in the Transportation Corp and was stationed 6 months at Camp Dessert Rock in Nevada for atomic testing. He married Catherine Hanson on June 8, 1957 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Owatonna. He worked as a police officer for 15 years for the Owatonna Police Department. He also worked at Schmidt Equipment in maintenance, Gordy Fretham Excavating, and Fabricated Wood in Owatonna, until his retirement. Wayne also was a private investigator for 26 years, a bail bondsman for 23 years for Goldberg Bail Bond and worked for Premier Security. Wayne was mechanical. He built a sports car and enjoyed metal crafting. He also had a love for animals. Wayne was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church where he served many years as an usher. He was a member of the American Legion and served on the Owatonna Memorial Gardens Cemetery Board. Wayne was an active 40 year member of the Masons. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge and past Worshipful Master, Royal Arch Masons, Knight Templar Commendery, Council of Cryptic Masons, Zuhrah Shrine, Knights of the York Cross of Honour, Holy Royal Arch Knight Templar Priests, and Eastern Star. He is survived by his wife, Catherine Yule of Owatonna, children, Laureen Yule of Woodridge, IL, Craig (and Tina) Yule of Owatonna, and Crystal Young of Waseca; 13 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; brothers-in-law, Raymond Hanson of Albert Lea and Byron (and Janet) Hanson of Owatonna; sisters-in-law, Mavis Parrish of Albert Lea and Iris (and Joe) Donkers of Owatonna; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, infant son, Russel, brother, Clifford Yule, sister, Esther Mae Sette, and infant sister, brothers-in-law, Kenneth Sette, Jerry Jirele, Gordon Hanson, and Eugene Parrish, sisters-in-law, LaVonne Hanson and Vivian Hanson. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday, June 6, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and at Trinity Lutheran Church on Saturday from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM. A Masonic service will be held Friday 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church with Reverend Dean Smith officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens in Owatonna with full military honors conducted by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to donor's choice.
