Wayne Lee Hanson, 63, of La Crosse, WI, formerly of Hayfield, MN died August 19, 2015 at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in LaCrosse, WI. Wayne was born March 20, 1952 the son of Carl and Mabel (Jorgenson) Hanson. He grew up on a farm in Lemond Township and was active in 4-H. He raised and showed rare ducks, chickens, and geese. He also grew flowers and vegetables which he enjoyed sharing with family and friends. Wayne attended grade school at Lemond and Owatonna High School. He worked at Viracon and also janitorial work and many businesses. Wayne loved to play cards, listen to country music, play bingo and spend time with his family, niece and nephew and his friends. He loved Christmas; cutting a live tree, decorating the tree and the whole house, and giving presents. Wayne is survived by his sister, Lorinda (Jerome) Kern of West Concord; nephew, Wade (Jessica) Kern of West Concord and their children, Tristen and Sadie; niece, Kelley (Darrell) Jensen of Medford, and their children, Jadden, Jarren, and Kallen; good friend, Calvin Cooper of La Crosse, WI. Wayne was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, and sister, Barbara Hanson. Graveside services will be held 10:30 AM Monday, August 24, 2015 at the Otisco-Lemond Cemetery, Waseca County, Minnesota. Michaelson Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
