Wayne Joseph Minges, 72, of Owatonna, died Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at his home. He was born May 11, 1941 in Owatonna the son of Frank and Minnie (Ribbe) Minges. Wayne graduated from Owatonna High School and spent his life farming. He married Thelma (Dalland) Clements June 1, 1974 at St. John Lutheran Church. Thelma preceded Wayne in death in 2011. Wayne enjoyed collecting antique tractors and displaying them for others to enjoy at the Steele Co. Free Fair, in parades and as a part of antique tractor rides. He also enjoyed fishing, taking several fly-in fishing trips to Canada. Traveling to new places like Alaska and the western states was something he shared with his wife, Thelma. Wayne was a member of St. John Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Eagles, Elks, American Legion and VFW. Wayne was a dedicated Grandpa who loved his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is survived by his step-daughter, Connie Olberding of Cottage Grove; step-sons, Randy (and Deb) Clements of Owatonna, Tom (and Kathy) Clements of Owatonna; step-daughter in law, Mary Clements of Owatonna; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, sister and step-son. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Friday from 4pm to 7pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 11am at St. John Lutheran Church with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the St. John Cemetery in Owatonna.
