Wayne Charles Witt, 86, of Kasson, formerly of West Concord, passed away Sunday, January 11, 2015 at Fairview Care Center in Dodge Center. Wayne was born on March 5, 1928, in Claremont, MN to Lawrence and Amelia (Rohwer) Witt. He was a 1944 graduate of West Concord High School. He served in the US Navy as a Corpsman with the US Marine Corp during the Korean War. Wayne married Barbara Pirkl on December 30, 1952. He worked at IBM (Rochester, MN and Boca Raton, FL), retiring in 1988 with 30 years of service. He was a Concord Township Treasurer, American Legion member since 1951 and belonged to the IBM Quarter Century Club. Wayne was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in West Concord. Wayne is survived by his wife Barbara of Kasson, daughter Brenda (Clair) Boyum of Kenyon, and son Larry (Tyra) Witt of Pine Island; grandsons Brad (Elizabeth) Boyum, Curt (Elizabeth) Boyum, Dave (Tricia) Boyum and 4 great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Jackson, Isabella, and Charlie. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Shirley Andrews and brothers Leonard and Robert, and great granddaughter Brynn Boyum. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 17, 2015 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in West Concord with Father Gregory Parrott celebrating. Visitation will be 4-7 PM on Friday, January 16, 2015 at Michaelson Funeral Home in West Concord and one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at St. Vincent de Paul Cemetery with Military Honors. The family would like to thank the staff at Fairview Care Center for all they have done for Wayne and his family.
