William 'Timer' E. Brooks 84, of Owatonna, died Sunday, July 12, 2009 at the Owatonna Hospital. He was born May 1, 1925 in Morristown, Minnesota the son of William and Martha (Herrley) Brooks. Bill grew up in Morristown, and attended country school there. He then served in the United States Army. Bill married Kathleen Kubicek on September 21, 1963. For over thirty years Bill worked for Concrete Materials Co. in Medford, and after his retirement he mowed lawns for many people in Owatonna. Bill enjoyed putting together family photo albums, gardening and flowers. He is survived by his wife Kathleen of Owatonna; two sons, Troy (Chris) of Owatonna, Drew (and fianc Cindy Martin) of Kansas City, special house cat Bella, four grandchildren Amber, Michaela, Jocelyn, Lydia. Bill is also survived by two brothers Richard 'Dick' (Diana) Brooks of Farmington, and Robert (Jean) Brooks of Anoka, and two sister in laws Doris Brooks of Maple Grove, and Marge Brooks of Cottage Grove. His parents, three sisters Genny, Marion, and Carol, and two brothers Don and Charles preceded him in death. Visitation will be at Michaelson Funeral Home on Wednesday, July 15 from 5-8 PM and at Our Savior's Lutheran Church on Thursday July 16 from 1-2 PM. Funeral service will Thursday, July 16 at 2PM at Our Savior''s Lutheran Church with Reverend Ron Gilthvedt officiating. Interment will be in the Owatonna Memorial Gardens, with honors provided by the Steele County Military Funeral Unit. Memorials are preferred to Our Savior''s Lutheran Church or the Steele County Humane Society.
