William J. Kaufmann Sr., 92, of Le Center, died Friday, May 27, 2011 at Central Health Care Center in Le Center. He was born September 9, 1918 in Glencoe, Minnesota. He entered into the United States Army on March 4, 1941 serving with the Company K 275th Infantry earning the rank of Sergeant. He was honorably discharged on October 20, 1945. Bill resided in St. Paul, Glencoe and Owatonna where he worked as an auto mechanic and also a concertina and accordion player and repairman. In 2005, Bill moved to Le Center and resided at the Central Health Care Center. He is survived by his son, William Kaufmann of Yorba Linda, CA, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 10:30 AM at Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
