Wilferd "Willie" Duane Dahl, 84, of Faribault, formerly of Kenyon, passed away on Friday, February 6, 2026, at Benedictine Living Community in Owatonna of multiple long-term illnesses.
He was born December 25, 1941, in Kenyon, Minnesota to Milferd and Dorothy (Smith) Dahl. Willie graduated from Kenyon High School in 1960, before joining the United States Navy in 1961. He married Barbara Homeier, and together they had three children, Pamela, Brian, and Darrin. Willie and Barb later divorced. Willie was united in marriage to Jan Reinke on August 8, 2018. Willie worked for Thermo-King for over 35 years, also tending bar at the VFW in Kenyon for 34 years, and was a volunteer EMT.
Willie loved to play and watch all sports. He was also quite the bowler, missing the perfect game of 300 once by scoring 299. But most of all, he loved spending quality time with his family and attending his grandchildren's sporting events, and going to fairs. Willie loved life and loved his family. He fought hard to the very end.
He is survived by his wife Jan; daughter, Pamela (and Brian) Nutter, and their children, Payton (and Brendan), Ethan, Brady, and Jake; son, Brian (and Cheryl) Dahl and their children, Corynne (and Ben), Julia; son, Darrin (and Karen) Dahl and their children Gage, Noah, and Conner; step-children, Carol (and Charlie) Bronk and their children, Nick and Clayton; Jim Phillipsen, and his children Krystle, Garret, and Wyatt; Mike (and Kathy) Phillipsen, and their children, Frank, Danielle, and Maggie; Kate (and Leo) Gerten, and their children, Conrad and Rita; 6 great-grandchildren; sisters, Shirley, Marilyn, Bonnie, and Shari; brother, Butch; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milferd and Dorothy; sisters, Donna, Ione, and Stevie.
Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at 11AM at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Kenyon, with a visitation from 9:30AM to 11AM. A reception will be held immediately following the service at the Kenyon VFW.
